A journey of hope and healing after a decade of infertility and two maternal near-misses.

I'm One in Eight

Today kicks off Infertility Awareness Week from April 24th through April 30th.  One out of every eight couples are affected by infertility which means someone you know is suffering with this condition.  It's likely a family member, a friend, a neighbor, a coworker or someone at church.  It might even be you.  It was me.

The road of infertility is treacherous.  It's filled with a lot of obstacles like negative pregnancy tests, miscarriage, doctor appointments, specialists, tests, procedures, medicines but for many it includes adoption agencies, lawyers, birth parents, fostering agencies and much more.  There is heartbreak.  There is a lot of pain and uncertainty.  But there is hope too.

I'll be posting a few times this week in honor of National Infertility Awareness Week, #niaw.  Join me in spreading the word.  Help the couples that are still suffering know they are not alone.  Let them know that you are one in eight.  Start telling.  Start asking.

I would love to connect with you. If you liked this post or were encouraged by it, please consider passing it on. Find me on Instagram and Twitter.
